To ensure your content displays smoothly in NoviSign, files need to be in supported formats.
Here’s what works and how to convert other formats when needed.
NoviSign Studio supports the following formats:
Images: JPG, PNG, GIF, Animated GIF
Video: MP4 (AVC/H.264 format)
Audio: M4A (used with the Video widget)
Files in other formats should be converted before use:
Other videos → Convert to MP4 (AVC format)
Other images → Convert to JPG, PNG (for transparent backgrounds), or GIF
Other audio files → Convert to M4A
When you upload certain files, NoviSign’s built-in converter automatically turns them into images (JPG format) so that they can be used in creatives.
Microsoft PowerPoint Presentations: PPT, PPTX, PPS, PPSX
Document files: PDF
Upload your file via the Media Center (from the “Creatives” tab or inside the Creative Composer). You can now upload all the above mentioned formats. In some browsers, you might need to choose the right file category or “Custom Files” or “All Files” in the dialog windows which pops up after choosing the “My Device” option.
Once the file is fully uploaded – the system converts it to images—one image per page/slide. That’s why, after the upload, you cannot edit those files, since they are all image items in your Media Center.
Example:
If you have a PDF file with 3 pages and it is called “MyDoc.pdf”, then it will generate 3 image items in your Media Center, called “MyDoc – 1”, “MyDoc – 2”, and “MyDoc – 3”. Later on, you can use them in anywhere in the Studio.
A good use case will be to create a composed creative, drag a slideshow widget and then select all those 3 images to be slides in that widget, to be presented one after another.
Note: Each subscription includes a limited number of document conversions per month.
