Configuring Hivestack Ad Serving Campaigns in NoviSign

This guide provides a step-by-step explanation on how to configure the parameters of your ad campaign using your account on the ad-serving platform Hivestack.

Hivestack is a third-party web service for delivering advertisements. By creating an account, you can set up and manage your own ad campaigns—defining aspects such as display order, frequency, and more.

Using NoviSign’s Ad Widget, which supports multiple ad-serving platforms, you can integrate your Hivestack campaigns into your NoviSign playback content.

Before proceeding, ensure that you have an active Hivestack account and that your first ad campaign has been fully configured on their platform.

IMPORTANT:

Please note that Hivestack integration is currently supported only in the following NoviSign player apps:

  • Android APK version 5.1.25-27 and above

  • HTML player app (WPlayer)

How do I set it up?

  1. Login to your user account in the online Studio CMS.
  2. In the creatives tab let’s create a creative which will use you as an ad replacement for your ad serving campaign. Click the “+ New Creative” button to create a new creative.
  3. Choose your template (or “Start Fresh with Blank Page” for empty template) and then you’ll find yourself in the Creative Composer tool.
  4. Add any widget you like to the canvas and customize it. Then drag the ad serving widget to the canvas. Probably you’d like to resize it to take more space on the canvas.

  5. Now, in the left properties pane you will see the properties of the ad widget. In the top dropdown list choose “Hivestack”. The properties pane will repopulate itself to show settings from your Hivestack service account.

  6. Under the “Connection Settings” you will see 2 settings and one toggling button for turning this ad widget to be alive (as long as the “Live” toggling button is set to off, the ad widget won’t be active). The settings are:
    • API Key – This is the API key you got from Hivestack.
    • Screen ID – This is the ID of the screen (you can have multiple screens in Hivestack) you need to get from Hivestack.
  7. After you setup the 2 above settings and turned the “Live” to on, press the “Save” button in order to save your creative (without saving, previewing the vendor’s campaign might not be visible).
  8. Press the “Preview” button on top to see how the creative will look like (if you have active campaign that is supposed to run now, you will see it in the ad widget) and to validate the integration.
  9. Exit the preview and exit your creative. Now, you’re ready to use this building block in any of your playlists (tip: you can use it more than once in same playlist).
