Configuring TAIV Ad Serving Campaigns in NoviSign

This guide provides a step-by-step walkthrough on how to configure all the parameters of your ad campaign using your account with the ad-serving platform TAIV.

TAIV is a third-party web service that enables you to create and manage advertisement campaigns, allowing you to control the order, frequency, and other settings for your ads.

With NoviSign’s Ad Widget, which supports multiple ad-serving platforms, you can integrate your TAIV campaigns to display ads within your NoviSign playback content.

Before you begin, please ensure that you have an active TAIV account and that your first ad campaign is properly set up on their platform.

IMPORTANT: Please note that TAIV integration is supported only on our Android player app (APK versions 5.1.25-27 and later) and our HTML player app (WPlayer).

How do I set it up?

  1. Login to your user account in the online Studio CMS.
  2. In the creatives tab let’s create a creative which will use you as an ad replacement for your ad serving campaign. Click the “+ New Creative” button to create a new creative.
  3. Choose your template (or “Start Fresh with Blank Page” for empty template) and then you’ll find yourself in the Creative Composer tool.
  4. Add any widget you like to the canvas and customize it. Then drag the ad serving widget to the canvas. Probably you’d like to resize it to take more space on the canvas.

  5. Now, in the left properties pane you will see the properties of the ad widget. In the top dropdown list choose “TAIV”. The properties pane will repopulate itself to show settings from your TAIV service account.

  6. Under the “Connection Settings” you will see 2 settings and one toggling button for turning this ad widget to be alive (as long as the “Live” toggling button is set to off, the ad widget won’t be active). The settings are:
    • Publisher Key – This is the API key you got from TAIV.
    • Device ID – This is the ID of the screen/device (you can have multiple devices in TAIV) you need to get from TAIV.
    • IP Address – This (optional) is can be a specific IP address or range of IP addresses of the target displays (in case you’d like to limit that by IP address).
    • Latitude – This is the north-south position, in case you’d like to limit the receiving displays only to those which are within a certain radius of this location.
    • Longitude – This is the east-west position, in case you’d like to limit the receiving displays only to those which are within a certain radius of this location
    • Venue Type – This is a dropdown with 3 options of your vertical (venue) type (i.e. bar, casual dining, QSR).
    • Media Resolution – This allows you to limit the receiving displays to those which are listed in the dropdown list by screen resolution (i.e. if you choose “Full HD” then the widget will display ads only to displays which support full HD).
    • Pod Length – This amount of seconds of the whole pod (which can contain multiple ads). This is where you can limit it.
    • Max Adverts – This is the maximum individual ads within a single pod (i.e. if you set it to 3 then there will be not more than 3 ads in a single pod).
    • Audio Enabled – Checking this checkbox will allow sound (if there is – in case of video ad) to be heard in the target displays (assuming they have speakers).
  7. After you setup the 2 above settings and turned the “Live” to on, press the “Save” button in order to save your creative (without saving, previewing the vendor’s campaign might not be visible).
  8. Press the “Preview” button on top to see how the creative will look like (if you have active campaign that is supposed to run now, you will see it in the ad widget) and to validate the integration.
  9. Exit the preview and exit your creative. Now, you’re ready to use this building block in any of your playlists (tip: you can use it more than once in same playlist).
