Creating Content with AI in NoviSign Studio

Skip the blank canvas. NoviSign Studio’s AI creative tools let you describe what you want in plain language — or sketch it — and get a ready-to-use creative in seconds. This guide walks you through creating and refining content with AI.

Overview

AI creation works like a conversation. You tell Studio what you want, by typing or speaking, it generates a creative for you, and you keep refining it with follow-up requests, like “make it bigger,” “change that to blue,” or “undo the last change,” until it’s ready to publish. You can also switch any existing creative into AI mode and ask AI to update it for you.

Before you start, keep in mind:

  • AI creation is available from the Creatives page in Studio.
  • Generated images and media are currently temporary — they stay available for about 30 days.
  • AI-generated content works best when built as AI content from the start. Applying AI edits to older, hand-built creatives may produce lower-quality layout results.
  • Some editing capabilities — like image filters, image recoloring, and rounded corners/opacity on widgets — are currently available only through AI, not through manual editing.
  1. Go to the Creatives page in Studio.
  2. Click Create, and choose Create with AI from the dropdown. You can also click the Create with AI card on the Studio homepage.
  3. A chat window opens where you can describe the creative you want.
  1. Type a description of the creative you want — for example, “a promo banner for our weekend sale with a red background and bold white text.”
  2. Prefer talking? Click the microphone icon to dictate your prompt instead of typing.
  3. Want to start from an image? Drag a sketch or screenshot into the chat and AI will use it as a starting point. This works best with simple images.
  4. AI generates a creative based on your description and shows it in the preview.

Keep the conversation going to fine-tune the result — no need to start over:

  • “Make the logo bigger”
  • “Change that box to blue”
  • “Revert the last change”

Studio remembers what you’ve been working on during the session, so you can refer to “that” or “it” and it’ll know what you mean.

You can move between AI chat and Studio’s regular editor at any time:

  • Click the AI/Edit toggle button, or
  • Press Alt+I (Windows) / Option+I (Mac)

This is useful once you’ve got a result you like and want to fine-tune it by hand, or if you want to make manual edits and then hand it back to AI for another round.

Click the gear icon in the AI chat panel to:

  • Turn off AI follow-up suggestions if you just want the summary.
  • Change how uploaded images are resized before AI reads them.
  • Report an issue — if something looks wrong, use this to send your chat steps to NoviSign for investigation.

Preview your creative the same way you would any other Studio content. If you’re demoing on an actual player, keep in mind newer visual effects (like transparency or custom shapes) may not display correctly on older player software — preview mode is the most reliable way to check your result.

Troubleshooting

Issue Solution
AI stops responding partway through a long editing session Start a new AI session for that creative and continue from there
A complex layout request didn’t come out right Try breaking your request into smaller, simpler steps
Edits to an older, non-AI-created creative look off For best results, consider recreating the creative with AI first
A widget I dragged in looks different than expected Adjust manually, or ask AI to restyle it
My generated image disappeared after a while Generated media is temporary and expires after about 30 days

Have feedback on your AI-generated content? Use “Report an issue” in the AI chat’s settings menu so our team can take a look. For general Studio editing help, see the Creating and Editing Creatives guide.support@novisign.com
